When most people think of camping, they think of tents and mini gas stoves. While there’s nothing wrong with this method, mankind has evolved to be top dog for a reason, after all, this wasn’t enough for YouTuber Survival Lilly.
Lilly decided to put her survival skills to the test with the construction of what she calls a “Super Shelter in The Woods.” This wooden fortress of solitude is hand built, using only some tarp, rope, a saw, a pocket knife, and a fair bit of wood, of course. The results look amazing and dare I say more enjoyable than anything by Coleman. Granted, you cant pack this bunker up and take it back home.
Survival Lilly shows off the building process in a 2 part video series, where viewers can see how a few simple techniques can be used to create something incredible. She had this to say about her video and her channel as a whole.
“I am an avid bushcrafter, survivalist and hunter from Austria and I like to share my experiences with like-minded people. I have a YouTube channel named ‘Survival Lilly’ where I post survival videos about wilderness survival (both primitive and modern) modern survival, prepping and urban survival. I am a full-time YouTuber where I provide free knowledge for those who are interested in survival related topics.”
The video won’t show you any clever tricks that the ancient humans used to use to get by, but it does show you that building such a strong and reliable shelter is possible and that you could do it too, with enough dedication.
